Funeral Notice

Brothers,

I got a call this evening regarding Worshipful Brother John Wilson. His wife, who has been ill for some time now, has passed away. The only viewing and service will be on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm. Around 8pm there will be a small service for her.

Worshipful Brother John is taking it very hard. I know there’s word of bad weather in a few days, but we should make every effort to be there for our Brother. Officers, if you plan to attend, a suit will do just fine since we are not doing a Masonic Service. We are supporting a Brother in time of need.

The Funeral will be at L.J. Griffin Funeral Home 8809 Wayne Road, Livonia, MI 48150.
It is located on the corner of Wayne Road and Joy Road.

If there are any questions please contact me. I will be traveling up to the funeral home Monday via I-275 to Ann Arbor Rd. (exit 28) turn right. Ann Arbor Rd. turns into Plymouth Rd. Take it to Wayne Rd and turn right. Joy Rd is down a few miles. The funeral home is on the right. You can access it off of Wayne and Joy Rd entrances.

A Brother’s Passing

Dear Brothers,

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Brother Frank “Dusty” LaBute on January 6th of this year.

Through a phone call from Worshipful Brother Bill Ford the lodge learned of his passing. Brother Frank did not want a big ceremony and only requested a small service.

This comes as a huge shock and I wish we could have had an opportunity to pay our respects to Dusty and give our condolences to his family.

January 2015 Weekly Update

Hello Brothers!

Here is your Monday update….on a Tuesday.

Busy day yesterday. I did not get a chance to sit down and let you know what is planned at Monroe Lodge 27.

This week we will have Fellowship at the lodge on Wednesday the 28th. From around 6pm-8pm (or 9pm depending on the Euchre games) come on down and hang out with the Brothers and reeeeeelax. We had a great start to January so lets end it telling jokes, laughing and playing cards.

Next week Wednesday, February 4th is our Past Master’s Night. The Past Master’s of Monroe Lodge 27 will put on the Entered Apprentice degree for us. Degree work will start at 7pm. Let’s show the Past Master’s and our candidate a lot of support by packing the chairs. Invite a Brother you know from another lodge or a Brother you haven’t seen in lodge for awhile. If he lives close by, pick him up and travel together. That is one of the things Masonry is for, Brotherly Love.

Wednesday the 11th is our Business Meeting at 7pm. Dinner at 6pm. Remember to sign the dinner sheet if you are coming and also let us know if you will have a guest with you.

Travelng to Allen Park

Monroe Monday Update January 2015

Hello Brothers!

I hope this finds everyone happy, healthy and WARM! What a week it has been with the cold. Seems like everyone is having car problems due to sub zero temps….glad we got reprieve from it, even if it’s short lived.

This week on the 14th we will have our Business Meeting at 7pm. Dinner will be at 6pm.
Don’t miss it. Lot’s to discuss and new things to learn!

Next week is a busy one. On Wednesday the 21st at 5pm will be our Temple Board Elections. Then at 6pm will be a dinner to prepare us for the Master Mason degree which starts at 7pm. Hope to see some filled chairs as we raise another fine Brother.
